2010 Game - Breakaway!

Breakaway is played on a field (illustrated below) in which two alliances, one red and one blue, each composed of three FRC teams, compete to score the most points. Points are scored by shooting soccer balls into one of the alliance goals (1 point). Additional points can be scored at the end of the match by climbing on the alliance tower or plaform (2 points), or by being suspended from an elevated alliance robot (3 points). Alliances can also incur penalties for various rule infractions (-1 or -2 points). A 15 second autonomous period starts each match during which the robots are controlled by pre-programmed instructions. This is followed by a 2 minute teleoperated period during which the drivers assume control of the robot.
